Chris Whittle, CFII, MEI, DPE

Pilot Examiner

Even as a child, Chris Whittle knew he would fly someday. After he completed his first solo at age 16, Chris' flying career has quite literally taken off. In his more than 15 years of training countless students how to fly, he has become one of the most respected flight instructors in North Carolina. The Alamance County native and East Carolina University graduate has amassed more than 10,000 hours flight time and has been identified by the FAA as a Designated Pilot Examiner. Chris' illustrious career in aviation has enabled him to meet many people interested in aviation. Since the first day of Elon Aviation, it has been his goal to build a community of pilots around this interest.

During his career, Chris has earned the Airline Transport Pilot certification and Multi Engine and Instrument Ratings. He is a FAA Certified Gold Seal Flight Instructor and a FAA Safety Team Member. Chris completed the American Bonanza Society Flight Instructor Academy training program, and he achieved the FAA Industry Training Standards (FITS) for technically advanced aircraft at the Cessna factory in Independence, Kansas.

Along with his pilot examiner duties, Chris serves Elon Aviation by completing student stage checks and helping to ensure Elon Aviation students are instructed to the highest standards.
