Nick Wilhelm, CFII

Flight Instructor

Nick Wilhelm's aviation interest is rooted in stories his father told him throughout his childhood. Nick's father was a pilot for the U.S. Navy during the Cold War, and many of his stories inspired Nick to fly as he grew older.

Nick originally wanted to be a Navy pilot and applied for ROTC out of high school, but he instead decided to play baseball at Lenoir Community College on a scholarship. Even though he was sidetracked from flying, he knew eventually he wanted to fly. After comparing his options of attending a four-year school for baseball or just academics, he realized he wanted to join the aviation world immediately.

Nick shopped around, and after getting a great response from Elon Aviation, he decided to visit the flight school and remained here for all his ratings and certificates.

Nick loves flying and being around like-minded people who fly. In his free time, he enjoys fishing, playing baseball, and hanging out with friends and family.
