First Solos

Years ago, flight instructors rode behind their students. Instructors would tug on the student's shirttail to get the student's attention. According to tradition, cutting off the shirttail symbolizes the instructor's confidence that the student is capable of flying solo. We celebrate our 30 most recent students’ solo successes here.
